Donn Perignon Opens Relationship Wounds on “More to Lose”

Donn Perignon

Some artists learn how to hide their pain. Donn Perignon learned how to turn his pain into music. His newest single, “More to Lose,” released on November 28, 2025, is emotional, unfiltered, and it’s the kind of song that stays with you long after it fades out.

Donn Perignon’s story begins far from big cities and bright lights. Born Donovan Robles in Grand Junction, Colorado, he grew up using music as a lifeline. What started as a childhood habit, writing songs at six or seven years old, eventually became the way he processed everything he couldn’t say out loud. Music wasn’t just a hobby; it was escape, expression, and survival.

You can hear all of that history in “More to Lose.”
The track opens with soft piano notes, then slides into a mix of rap and melodic singing. Donn Perignon writes his own lyrics, shapes his own sound. That’s why his words hit the way they do.

“Why you lying / Why you causing all these problems then you sit here cryin” throws you straight into the conflict. As the beat settles under him, Donn Perignon lets the emotions spill over.

“My heart feelin empty girl I feel dyin
I’m givin up on this shit I’m done tryna with you.”

These lyrics are unfiltered, and straight from the chest. They’re human.
And that’s what makes them powerful.

Throughout the track, Donn Perignon switches between heartbreak, frustration, and clarity. Lines like “Start sippin on the lean I get me a sprite maybe two” show coping mechanisms. Others, “Did I love you or did I love the way you move,” show the self-reflection that comes when the fog lifts and the truth settles in.

Even when he flexes, the vulnerability slips through:

“I’m married to the money so there ain’t no way I lose
But without you in my life I still don’t know what to do.”

That contradiction, confidence wrapped in pain, is part of what makes Donn Perignon’s music memorable. His hooks stick. His storytelling feels lived-in.  And Donn Perignon delivers every line like someone who has lived every word.
