Eminem Performs Medley of Career-Spanning Hits at Rare Private Concert in Detroit

Eminem crashed Rocket Mortgage’s annual all-team meeting at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena on Thursday night (Jan. 22), which saw Slim Shady perform a medley of hits as part of his surprise appearance.

The Detroit legend sent the thousands of workers into a frenzy when he popped out onstage in a hoodie jacket, gray jeans and white Nike sneakers.

Em ran through a nine-track set spanning his Hall of Fame career, which included rare live performances of “Lose Yourself,” “Square Dance,” “3 AM,” “The Real Slim Shady,” “Kill You,” “Stan,” “My Name Is,” “Without Me” and “Houdini.”

Rocket Mortgage has been known to go the extra mile for its employees’ entertainment, as Lil Wayne was the special guest performer at last year’s team meeting.

Thursday marked Em’s first time performing at Little Caesars Arena, which is home to the Detroit Pistons. Steve Aoki also warmed the crowd up with a DJ set.

Eminem’s last performance in Detroit was when he popped onstage with fellow hometown hero Jack White for his Thanksgiving Day halftime set at the Lions game. Before that, Em performed at Live From Detroit: The Concert at Michigan Central in June 2024, ahead of his The Death of Slim Shady album.

It’s been more than a decade since a proper headlining gig for Em in Detroit, which came when he co-headlined Comerica Park with Rihanna in 2014 as part of the Monster Tour.

Eminem’s last album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), arrived in July 2024 and netted him an 11th No. 1 album atop the Billboard 200 with 281,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S., according to Luminate.

In 2025, Em was on board as a producer for the Stans documentary, which tells Em’s life story and dives into his career through the eyes of his superfans.

It’s anybody’s guess for Em’s next move musically, but there’s been plenty of social media speculation that he could be making a guest appearance on J. Cole’s anticipated The Fall-Off album in February.
