The 2023 BET Awards held a very special and emotional moment on Sunday night as Offset and Quavo, members of the renowned hip-hop trio Migos, reunited on stage for the first time since their bandmate, Takeoff, tragically passed away.

The Staples Center in Los Angeles was filled with a mix of anticipation and heavy hearts as Offset and Quavo, real names Kiari Cephus and Quavious Marshall respectively, stepped on stage to perform some of the group’s biggest hits. It was a poignant moment, marking their first public performance as a duo following the sad news of Takeoff’s passing.

“This one’s for you, brother,” Quavo whispered into the mic, a quiet but powerful tribute to the missing third of their dynamic ensemble.

The duo’s performance was electrifying, a testament to their continuing dedication to their craft and their fans. Despite the gaping void left by their bandmate, the two remaining members delivered a performance worthy of the Migos name.

Offset and Quavo performed a medley of their hits, including “Bad and Boujee“, “MotorSport“, and “Stir Fry“. They also debuted a new song, “Takeoff’s Legacy“, a heartfelt tribute to their late brother and bandmate. The crowd erupted in applause and tears as the emotional track concluded.

The strength and courage that both Offset and Quavo showed tonight was deeply moving. It’s clear that the spirit of Migos is still very much alive.
