Rod Wave has announced that he’s leaving music and the industry, at least for now.

The rapper-singer announced the step following huge backlash from a cancelation of his show in Nashville on Jan. 29th. He was set to perform at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena for the Last Lap Tour performance but it was called off just about an hour before scheduled time, leaving fans angry and frustrated.

“Unfortunately, Rod Wave is unable to perform tonight,” Bridgestone Arena shared on social media. “The show is being postponed to a later date. More details to follow.”

Fans, who had traveled from all over, obviously did not appreciate the last minute decision as the show was already dealing with initial postponement from December 9.

A fan said Rod Wave “definitely owes nashville an explanation. cancel okay that’s cool but an hour before? at least give 10 hour notice people drove hours to get there.”

taking to Instagram, Rod Wave did not offer an explanation for the canceled show but called out people who sit on internet and drag names all day. He said he was leaving for now, without revealing whether he will be back to the scene.

“This ain’t goodbye it’s simply see u later,” Wave wrote. “Keep your head up and remember long as you got music your not alone … Till we meet again.” Swipe below to see his words.

Rod Wave has since then deactivated his Twitter and Instagram accounts.
