Soulja Boy Profits Off Soap Business During Coronavirus Outbreak

Soulja Boy is cleaning up his act.

After quitting drugs and alcohol following his release from prison last year, the 29-year-old rapper is diversifying his portfolio by putting his money into a company called The Soap Shop.

According to TMZ, Soulja heard it was a good opportunity and invested in a franchise location in Mississippi last year with his manager, CEO Miami Mike.

And it couldn’t come at a better time. With the coronavirus outbreak, people are looking for soaps, disinfectants, and other products that kill germs. The Soap Shop is breaking sales records, going from selling 100 bottles of cleaning products per month to over 3,000 cleaning products in the last two months. Profits at Soulja’s specific Soap Shop location in South Haven, Miss. have seen similar results, tripling sales.

And it’s all for a good cause. Soulja has teamed up with a charity called Bubbles for Cash that allows kids to sell his soap products fundraising. The money goes back into the community to fund programs and services for the youth.

The reality star already has invested in the tech space by selling his own rebranded video game consoles and electronics including the SouljaWatch, SouljaPods, SouljaPhone, and SouljaHeadphones.

“Once you get into the music industry, branch out, do different stuff, like try different things,” Soulja told “The Breakfast Club.”

Aside from his investments, he is currently touring the country with Omarion and Bow Wow on the “Millennium Tour 2020,” which wraps May 10 in Los Angeles. “Right now, I’m just focused on the music, focused on the tour, focused on just feeding the fans ’cause it’s left off. There’s a lot that I owe them,” he said.
