Houma, Louisiana and Atlanta-bred rapper, songwriter, and freestyle MC Cody Robinson, better known as 1200 Slim, just dropped a hot joint titled “Tik Tok,” in which he unleashes his gangsta rap over a flawless production of instrumental and smooth beats. Off his upcoming album Revelations, to drop on August the 27th, 1200 Slim’s “Tik Tok” is a rap explosion set to spark mass appeal among the fans, thanks to this new manifestation of Louisiana rap, directly inspired by his father who was one of the truest rappers Slim has ever seen.
After serving a 3.5 year sentence that ended in 2014, 1200 Slim decided to make music his number one priority, and released his debut single “Dumb wit the Bands,” a track produced by JON BOII that was aired on Bet jams and Revolt’s The Gate.
Every aspect of his music and story are real, while his versatile flow expresses the three generations of music that raised him. His raw talent paired with a true sense of lyricism are two elements working in his favor to become one of the next major rappers of his times.
