Detroit rap icon Royce Da 5’9” has just released a new EP titled The Heaven Experience, which is an extension of his 2020 album of the same name. The six-track EP, which he calls the “lost sessions,” features previously unreleased cuts from the previous project, and serves as a strong display of Royce’s lyrical prowess.
The Heaven Experience EP includes collaborations with legendary rapper Redman, who features on the track “Royce & Reggie,” as well as up-and-coming artists Courtney Bell and Traxx Sanders, who appear on “Ion Wanna.” The EP showcases Royce’s versatility as a rapper and his ability to collaborate with a range of artists from different generations.
With the release of The Heaven Experience EP, Royce joins fellow Detroit rapper Danny Brown in dropping new music recently. Brown teamed up with experimental hip-hop artist JPEGMAFIA for their new project, Scaring The Hoes Vol. 1.
Royce Da 5’9” has been a mainstay in the hip-hop scene for over two decades, and has been hailed as one of the best lyricists in the game. He’s also a member of the hip-hop supergroup Slaughterhouse, along with Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, and KXNG Crooked. Royce has released several critically acclaimed albums throughout his career, including Book of Ryan and The Allegory.
Fans of Royce Da 5’9” can catch him on tour later this year, as he’s set to embark on the “Live On Arrival” tour with rapper AZ. The tour kicks off in October and will make stops in several cities across the United States.
