Crumb have announced a headlining North American tour and unveiled another new song from their upcoming album, Amama. Titled “The Bug,” the track comes with a Haoyan of America–directed music video that’s filled with crawling insects. Watch it below.
According to singer Lila Ramani, “The Bug” has been orbiting Crumb since before Jinx. “The origins go back to a motel in Nebraska on one of our earliest tours when I woke up with a bunch of bed bug bites,” she explained. “Wired and unable to sleep, I wandered around the motel singing what would become the outro to the song. Years later when we were finally recording it, it took on a more tender meaning… the bug doesn’t have to be an insect—the bug can be a friend, a lover, or that nagging feeling that finds you late at night.”
Crumb’s North American tour begins in Des Moines, Iowa, on July 18—just three days before their performance at Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, Illinois—and brings the band across the United States and Canada on through to October. L’Rain, Vagabon, and Discovery Zone will join Crumb at select shows. See the group’s full tour itinerary below.
