Top Dawn Entertainment, the famed label based out of LA, is being sued by two women for alleged sexual misconduct.
Two women have accused several of the label’s executives and employees of sexual harassment, assault, and breach of contract. The lawsuit was filed anonymously in Los Angeles Superior Court and reported first by Newsweek.
According to the suit, “Plaintiff Jane Doe was hired to perform public relations and marketing services for TDE. During the course of her performance of work for TDE, she was subject to inappropriate workplace behavior, including sexual harassment and assault by officers and executives of the company.”
The second plaintiff, listed as Jane Roe, is supposedly a friend of an artist signed to TDE., the former label home for Kendrick Lamar who continues to maintain a great relationship there. She alleges she was “sexually harassed twice by TDE employees, one of whom gave her alcohol (despite her being underage) in an attempt to further sexual advances,” while staying at a home owned by TDE.
The first plaintiff stated in the lawsuit that she started working at TDE in 2019 and alleged that Chief Marketing Officer Brandon Tiffith approached her with unwanted sexual advances as well as sexual battery.
Shounak Dharap of Arns Davis Law in a press release said they plan to hold TDE accountable. “This lawsuit presents a glaring example of the systemic abuse and exploitation in the entertainment industry,” Dharap said. “Our clients trusted TDE to act with integrity and professionalism. Instead, their trust was betrayed in profoundly damaging ways. They’re bringing this lawsuit because they refuse to be silenced, and because they intend to hold TDE accountable in court.”
The plaintiffs are seeking damages for emotional distress, economic harm, and violations of their rights under California law.
