Watch Lil Uzi Vert Become a Fashion Mogul in ‘What You Saying’ Video Starring Adriana Lima & Marc Jacobs

Lil Uzi Vert lived out his runway dreams of being a renowned fashion designer, as he turned his “What You Saying” music video into a full-blown fashion show.

The Philly rapper returned Tuesday (Dec. 23) to release his fourth single in the last month with “What You Saying.” Lil Uzi blends Jersey Club with a sample of French singer Indila’s “Love Story,” which creates a genre-blending cocktail that makes LUV sonically feel right at home.

Inspired by his favorite designers that sparked his fashion sense, the 30-year-old puts together a fashion show as he leads his designer brand, UZI, to the runway. In the midst of the chaos, Uzi recruits Adriana Lima to star as the line’s top runway model, and the clip also sees a cameo from decorated designer Marc Jacobs, along with agent Kyle Hagler, stylist Law Roach and artist Lola Leon.

“Remember, this is just the beginning. You are all invited to my fashion show,” Uzi captioned an announcement for the single, which was originally in French. “Thank you for your attention and patience.”

Throughout the track, Uzi complains about the obstacles of a language barrier interfering with a romantic interest, which aligns with the French sample.

In half pink and half black dreads, the eccentric rapper pops out to a standing ovation toward the end of the fashion-forward clip and he takes a bow in front of the audience while receiving a bouquet of flowers. There’s even fans hilariously holding up “UZI Fashion Scum” posters.

To put a bow on everything, Lil Uzi steps into a faux interview post-show and credits Prince as his inspiration for the visual. “I feel like Prince would not even care, that’s why he’s my inspiration,” he said. “If he was alive and saw this he’d be like, ‘Who the f—k is this?”

“We thought it would be cool to imagine an alternate universe where, instead of me being a beloved rapper, I am a beloved fashion designer,” Uzi told Vogue. “It makes sense for me to have a music video inspired by the world of fashion, as I have always been an avid fashion fan and collector from a very young age.

“What You Saying” follows singles like “Regular,” “Chanel Boy” and “Relevant” to launch Uzi into a new era, with the rapper signing to ROC Nation Distribution while also being managed by Roc Nation.

With a clean slate and newfound momentum, the foursome of releases appears to be setting the stage for a new Uzi album in 2026.
