J. Cole To Release New Album ‘The Fall Off’ on Feb. 6

Finally. After some reports that J. Cole was readying to release his new album The Fall Off anytime soon, we finally have the official release date.

The new album arrives Feb. 6th. Cole has dropped a trailer as well. Watch it below.

UPDATE: Cole has also revealed the official artwork for the album which looks like a part torn photo of his bedroom setup.

For the longest time, J. Cole has been hyping up this album. According to old rumors, Kendrick and Drake were both supposed to be on the album. Although now, it seems like this certainly will not happen, unless Cole has a few cards up his sleeve he’s not revealing.

The hype began shortly before the release of J. Cole’s last album The Off Season, when Cole revealed a photo of a timeline drawn up in what seems to be his journal. In it, another project called It’s A Boy was to come before The Fall Off itself. Instead, of course, we got projects like Might Delete Later which became infamous for having a diss track as response to Kendrick Lamar that was deleted later.

Now, having backed away from the beef that was upon him in pursuit of peace and personal integrity, Cole has a lot riding on the release of arguably his most anticipated project in the entirety of his career.

The release date, seemingly random, also may represent Fayetteville (which is often referred to as 2-6). Will Cole live up to the pressure and hype? What do you think?
