As if being a world-renowned artist wasn’t enough, Kid Cudi recently proved that even hip-hop icons have to pull some strings when it comes to their kids. During a recent appearance on his show Big Bro With Kid Cudi, the rapper revealed how he managed to secure tickets for his teenage daughter, Vada Wamwene Mescudi, and her friends to attend a stop on Taylor Swift‘s record-breaking Eras Tour.
Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, admitted that the request came directly from his daughter. “My daughter is a Swiftie,” Cudi explained during the conversation with guest Adam Scott. “She texted me one day, ‘Daddy, is it possible for you to get tickets for me and my friends to see Taylor Swift?’ I was just like, ‘Let me see what I can do.'”
The effort paid off in a big way. After reaching out to Swift’s team, Cudi was able to secure friends-and-family tickets, providing the group with prime seating in the stadium. The result was an immediate boost to his parental status. “Taylor Swift had me looking like the coolest dad ever,” he recalled. “I remember my daughter texted me back like, ‘Dad, you’re the best.’ I was just like, ‘Yeah, man!’ Thank you, Taylor Swift.”
The Eras Tour, which concluded its massive run, stands as one of the most significant cultural and commercial events in music history. According to Billboard Boxscore, the trek grossed over $2 billion and sold more than 10 million tickets across 149 shows, cementing its status as a once-in-a-generation phenomenon.
Perhaps the favor could be returned in the future. Kid Cudi is currently on the road for his own 33-date Rebel Ragers Tour, which continues to make stops across the country. Whether or not he can match the scale of the Eras Tour, Cudi remains focused on delivering high-energy performances for his own dedicated fanbase.
