Today, London-based DJ, singer and songwriter Afro B shares a new visual to accompany his latest single, “Shisha” featuring African singers Niniola and Busiswa. The music video features dancers from all over the World and was filmed in all three artists’ home countries – England, Nigeria & South Africa.
Known as the forefather of the Afrobeats and Afrowave genres, Afro B is best known for his international hit single, “Drogba (Joanna),” which has amassed more than 350 million streams. Last year, The Fader named him the “rising Afrowave king,” making the fusion of rap, dancehall and Afrobeat his staple. Afro B taps into inspiration from the Caribbean and Latin America, blending together traditional African elements with hip-hop to create a sound that is equal parts intriguing and infectious. His collaborations include Chris Brown, French Montana, Gashi, DJ Snake, T-Pain and Wizkid.
The Team Salut produced song is a vibe, perfect to play in a lounge, on a drive or on vacation with friends. The song lyrics paint a vivid picture of friends having fun in a shisha lounge – having drinks and smoking hookah.
“Shisha is an Amapiano styled track, with a slight UK Funky house vibe” Afro B said on “Shisha.” “The perfect come back to Africa and dance song. This South African sound is currently taking the world by storm.” Afro B is signed to independent music imprint, PIVTL Projects, part of the global digital music company Believe. Afro B is represented by Metro Public Relations, CAA and Joseph Charles at Starstruck Management. You can stay up to date with Afro B on his Instagram and TikTok.
