Angus Cloud passed away on Monday at his family’s home in Oakland, California. He was 25.

The much-adored star was known for his badass role as Fez on HBO’s hit TV show Euphoria. Though his cause of death has not been revealed, his family confirmed the tragic loss in a statement.

“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” his loved ones wrote. “As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence. We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”

Friends, collaborators, and fans have started mourning his death on social media, including members of Cloud’s Euphoria family. Javon Walton, who played Angus’ onscreen sibling Ashtray, took to his Instagram to mourn the young star, posting a picture of the two hugging. “Rest easy, brother,” Walton penned.

Katherine Narducci, who played Fez’s hardcore grandmother, reacted to his death by posting a photo of them. “@anguscloud what a shining light. Kind, one of a kind. Rest [in] peace,” she captioned a pic of them smiling.
