Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis Sent Letters Asking Judge for Leniency After Danny Masterson Was Found Guilty of Rape

Danny Masterson’s fellow That ’70s Show stars Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis submitted letters to the Los Angeles County judge who sentenced the actor this week following his conviction on two counts of rape by force or fear.

As detailed in the latest from preeminent legal affairs journalist Meghann Cuniff, who also reported extensively on the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case and Tory Lanez’s eventual conviction, both Kutcher and Kunis (who are married) wrote letters to the judge as part of an effort from Masterson’s defense team to secure a lighter sentence.

Highlighted in each of their letters was what Kutcher and Kunis say was Masterson’s hard stance against drugs, a trait they point to as a massively influential one on both of their careers.

“While I’m aware that the judgment has been cast as guilty on two counts of rape by force and the victims have a great desire for justice, I hope that my testament to [Masterson’s] character is taken into consideration in sentencing,” Kutcher wrote in the closing passage of his letter, adding that he doesn’t believe Masterson “is an ongoing harm to society.”

Kutcher has done everything in his power to help defend children against sex trafficking through his organization with Demi Moore called Thorn. His letter to the judge seems a bit out of character for him.
