Multiplatinum Pontiac, MI rising rapper DDG unveils a new single and music video entitled “If I Want You.”
On the track, spacey production echoes with a sparse beat and an effervescent guitar loop. DDG serves up emotionally charged verses and a hypnotic hook underlined by beautiful background vocals and mesmerizing harmonies. The music video is starring none other than his girlfriend Halle Bailey of Chloe x Halle who appears in the accompanying cinematic visual, which depicts their vibe on-screen in a fascinating fashion.
It notably paves the way for his anxiously awaited new album, It’s Not Me, It’s You, coming very soon.
He set the stage for the album with “Storyteller.” It has already amassed over 2.1 million Spotify streams and 2.9 million YouTube views on the music video.
“Storyteller” arrived on the heels of his otherworldly banger “Elon Musk” [feat. Gunna]. The latter has impressively generated 32 million Spotify streams and counting and 11 million YouTube views on the music video.
He has crossed the 1 billion stream threshold on the heels of his acclaimed project Die 4 Respect with OG Parker. It only sets the stage for a massive 2022 though.
Expanding his imprint, he announced via his YouTube channel that he is creating the first imprint label DAO in the web3 music space and will be allowing his fans and fellow DAO token holders to make all of the decisions of his imprint record label, Zooted Music.
