DJ Khaled Partners With LeBron James Following Lakers' Championship Win Over Miami Heat

DJ Khaled has partnered with LeBron James‘ media company Springhill Company and Amazon Music for his new podcast, The First One.

The show premieres Thursday (October 15) and will feature Khaled interviewing his “all-time favorite” artists about the hits that started it all and brought them to legendary status. In a statement, the Miami resident expressed his excitement about the new show and gave some more insight on what to expect.

“I’m recording my podcast with the greatest musicians of all time, and with some of my best friends who also happen to be the most iconic artists on the planet,” he said. “We’ll talk about fame, fortune, life, and success. These stories are here to motivate you because everybody starts from somewhere, from the ordinary to extraordinary. Before you get to another one, you got to get to ‘The First One,’ only on Amazon Music.”

Khaled’s been bringing in multiple bags this year, even amid a pandemic. Earlier this month, his Drake-assisted single “POPSTAR” was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America just shortly after its July release. Drake previously celebrated the song’s fast success by gifting Khaled with a custom diamond-encrusted chain that featured an owl on a key.

He’s also been tapped as the music curator for ESPN’s Monday Night Football, where he’s selecting songs to “reflect the energy, intensity, and storylines” of the weekly matchups for five games. The songs are featured in multiple spots during each game through promos, the pregame show and live telecasts.
