Trending on Billboard

Doja Cat kicked off her Tour Ma Vie World Tour in New Zealand on Tuesday, and she’s responding to a few early critics of the global trek.

It appears some fans weren’t thrilled with clips from Doja’s tour opener, as they took issue with the wardrobe changes, set design, visuals and storytelling of the show.

“Okay no shade the VIE tour just gives Scarlet with different outfits,” one fan wrote in an image captured by Complex. When another replied, hoping Doja would listen to the criticism, the Grammy-winning artist clapped back: “I won’t and I don’t need you.”

She replied to another critic: “Because I make music for people who enjoy music. I’m not a broadway act.”

Doja continued to go off on various fans, who were taking shots at her tour experience. “And I’m not your f—ing costume monkey, I move at my own pace and break my f—ing back out there every night so you can keep your bullsh– opinion to yourself,” she wrote. “You are not the artist you are the watcher.”

And I’m not your fucking costume monkey, I move at my own pace and break my fucking back out there every night so you can keep your bullshit opinion to yourself. You are not the artist you are the watcher.

“Who f—ing cares I’m singing my MUSIC for the people who want to hear me SING,” she wrote. “You’re not even at the f—ing show.”

It appears to be a loaded setlist for Doja on the global trek, which boasts 27 songs in total, spanning her discography. She’s set to hit South America in 2026 and then head to Europe in May and June, before she returns to the U.S. on Oct. 1 for a show in Detroit.

Doja’s still making noise on the charts. The 30-year-old earned her 12th chart-topper at radio as “Jealous Type” reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart, which jumped from No. 4 on the chart dated Nov. 22.
