Is anyone surprised by Drake’s numbers?
The Boy has done it again. With the long-awaited release of Certified Lover Boy, Drake broke Apple Music and Spotify’s one day streaming record in less than 12 hours.
After weeks of back and forth with Kanye West, many suspected that the two would release on the same day. DONDA dropped on Michael Jackson’s birthday and is expected to sell around 327K in its first week. It is expected to debut atop the Billboard 200 charts.

On the other hand, Drake will sell nearly 300K more units and atop the charts the following week. With DONDA dropping unexpectedly at 8 AM est on a Sunday morning, Ye lost 56 hours of potentials sales, compared to Drake’s 1 hour lost after dropping at 1 AM est.
During his Sound 42 radio show, the Certified Lover Boy leaked Kanye West’s song “Life of the Party” with Andre 3000.
The tracks comes 24 hours after the release of CLB, where Drake dissed Ye on “7 AM Bridle Path.”
