Emerging Picayune, Mississippi artist MDG has been shaking the algorithm with his viral record “Power” — ironically enough, a modern-day sample of Kanye West’s hit record, “Power” itself. Initially introducing this hit last summer, MDG performed “Power” on popular freestyle platform “From The Block” under his other monniker Monduhgoat. Music lovers organically began to pay attention, assisting the freestyle piece in reaching over 1 million streams.
It’s official release to digital streaming platforms came in December of 2022, and within 5 months, “Power” has accumulated over 2,000,000 streams and counting on Spotify alone. The virality began to pick up into the new year via TikTok, and between several social and streaming platforms, the track has had several million interactions and continues to blow. From a range of cooking videos, to majorette routines, MDG has definitely made a large impression with its release (which also hit the top 10 songs of TikTok at the end of March 2023).
As MDG prepares for his journey to becoming a household name, his fanbase continues to expand across the net. Following up with more heat, he also recently released his newest track “Come Here“ featuring DJ The Rapper. Be sure to keep up with MDG below:
