Enchanting, the Fort Worth, Texas, rapper who was signed to Gucci Mane’s Atlantic Records imprint, the New 1017, died on Tuesday, June 11, according to public records from the Dallas County medical examiner. The musician, born Channing Nicole Larry, was 26 years old. A cause of death has not been revealed.

On Instagram, Gucci Mane posted, “So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady a true star we gone all miss you Chant @luvenchanting 😢 💔.”

After self-releasing a handful of projects, Enchanting signed to the New 1017 in 2020. That year, she and K Shiday contributed “Left on Read” to Gucci Mane Presents: So Icy Summer. She also collaborated with K Shiday, Gucci Mane, Key Glock, and the late Big Scarr on one of her biggest songs, “No Luv.” More singles followed as Enchanting readied her debut major-label project, November 2022’s No Luv. The 14-track release included collaborations with Gucci Mane, Kaliii, KenTheMan, Coi Leray, Lil Gotit, Big Scarr, HitKidd, and more. Enchanting released another project, Luv Scarred, in 2023, via the New 1017 and Atlantic.

Last year, Alphonse Pierre wrote about Enchanting’s “Walk” freestyle. “The Texas-raised Gucci Mane signee sounds like a ghost whispering in the wind, and the quieter she gets the more sinister the song becomes,” he wrote of the artist’s delivery. “Even when she’s not saying anything that threatening it still comes off as wicked.”
