Kanye West Defends The 'Star Wars' Prequels On Joe Rogan's Podcast

The long-awaited sitdown between Kanye West and Joe Rogan on the Joe Rogan Experience turned out to be as what one would expect when giving Ye an uninterrupted platform.

The two spoke for nearly three hours, discussing topics such as Ye’s much-maligned run for the White House, his desire to build a monastery in Calabasas, California and how his pastor’s son convinced him Jesus Is King and Jesus Is Born needed to happen. However, Ye’s only moment of believed anger? Discussing Star Wars.

“They said that George Lucas’ prequels are worse than the corporate made Star Wars movies,” Ye exclaimed at the one hour and thirteen-minute mark. “Like Revenge of the Sith? We saw how Darth Vader was made! I watched that 10 times during COVID! Even the prequels are better than anything … I’m sorry Disney, Star Wars design team … this is George! This is his baby.”

He continued, “That thing was set in his heart to show us as children a hero’s journey. These ‘how can we run it back’ … you know there’s people at Disney who’ve left and said, ‘Every time there’s a new idea, there’s an unproven idea.’ They’ll get to ‘Toy Story 800,000’ and ‘Frozen trillion’ before they get a new concept to take a chance on.”

While Ye was attempting to make a greater point about giving new ideas a try, he continues to believe his current mission is still to be the leader of the free world.

Revelations are nothing new for ‘Ye when he’s comfortable. After producing a series of albums in 2018, he had input for Nas‘ NASIR. Thanks to the power of social media, we learn the Slick Rick sampling “Cops Shot The Kid” was supposed to include André 3000.
