Kendrick Lamar is on a historical that cannot and will not be stopped. Earlier this year, Kendrick became the first music artist to ever be featured in a Gatorade campaign.
Mind you, this too in a major way — from him voicing over the commercial and having his music in it, to being the campaign face and continuing his onslaught on Drake. In every sense, Kendrick’s moves have been precisely calculated in a manner that uplifts all of West and its spirit.
Now, Kendrick has created history again by being part of the Gatorade campaign a second time round. A piece of commercial that picks up right where we left off, and makes call backs to Kendrick-Drake beef by using the ‘drop, drop, drop’ motif. Check it out below!
In the commercial, which masquerades as a motivational sports video, Kendrick speaks on how the more he loses, the more he wins. In doing so, he talks about the things he loses in order to succeed: time, sweat, peace and more. The soundtrack is provided by his hit song ‘peekaboo’ feat. AZChike.
In a sense, he’s talking about being prepared and putting the work in daily — losing sweat, in order to win. Losing in practice, so he can shine when it’s game time. A truly incredible move in the midst of Joey calling him out too, considering Kendrick is being nudged to ‘drop’ once again. What do you think?
