Kodak Black is wishing Lil Wayne well.

Just days after Weezy pleaded guilty in his federal weapons case, he received support from an unlikely source. Taking to Twitter, Kodak paid tribute to Tunechi while appealing for his clemency.

“I Wish The Best For Lil Wayne,” he tweeted on Saturday (Dec. 12). “Please Don’t Send Him To Prison. He Inspired Me To Make Music. @LilTunechi.”

Last week, Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to illegally possessing a firearm as a formerly convicted felon. He faces up to 10 years in prison but may not serve much hard time because he accepted responsibility.

Kodak is changing his tune after he previously dissed Wayne on several occasions. In a video from January 2017, Kodak can be heard saying “Lil Wayne can eat my ass.” Prior to that in December 2016, he also tweeted about Weezy. “Lil Wayne Ain’t The Best Fucking Rapper Alive,” he tweeted. “IAM.”

Kodak continued to show his remorse, apologizing to Wayne’s daughter Reginae Carter, who he attacked on Instagram Live after she defended her father. “I Truly Apologize For My Disturbance Have A Blessed Day @reginae_carter1,” he tweeted.

The “Tunnel Vision” rapper is currently serving time at a Kentucky federal prison for making false statements on federal forms when he purchased firearms. He recently asked President Trump to pardon him before he leaves office. In return, he vowed to donate $1 million to charity within his first year of freedom.
