In one of its first partnerships with Experian, he hosts a new 6-part web series entitled “Protect The Bag.”
“I wanted to take the knowledge that I’ve gained, in addition to the experts from Experian and put everything together,” said Lecrae.
Lecrae also mentions his experience with educating his artists as well.
“I have nine artists on my record label, says the Grammy winner. “I had to walk them into banks and teach them how to do so many things. We’ve also held workshops for them, which sparked the idea of how many more people we can help.”
Each episode will cover a key point of building a financial legacy including, but not limited to, budgeting, identity protection, investing, and more.
To deliver the content, he is blending “Dave Chapelle and The Tonight Show” with relatable sketches for its audience.
Viewers can expect “Protect The Bag” to debut later this Fall on Lecrae’s YouTube channel.
In addition to teaching financial literacy, Lecrae will host the first Hip-Hop contest for those behind bars. In a joint effort with Aventiv Technologies, the incarcerated individuals will submit a track over one of three beats by Grammy-winning producer, Zaytoven.
The students of Morris Brown College will choose the top 25 finalists. From there, Lecrae will choose the winner, whose song will be recorded, mastered, and released.
All proceeds generated from the contest will go towards reform support for the corrections community.
