LL Cool J Announces Release Date, Tracklist & Artwork for Upcoming Album ‘The Force’

LL Cool J, a prominent figure in the world of rap (and an elusive one at that), has recently announced some major details regarding his upcoming project, The FORCE. The album is scheduled for release on September 6, 2024 and will follow up the lead singles previously released, which include ‘Murdergram’ with Eminem and the latest, ‘Passion’.

The album also boasts a star studded feature line up including artists like Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, Fat Joe, Saweetie, Busta Rhymes and more! Check out the track list below:

Tracklist

1. Spirit of Cyrus (Featuring Snoop Dogg)
2. The FORCE
3. Saturday Night Special (Featuring Rick Ross and Fat Joe)
4. Black Code Suite (Featuring Sona Jobarteh)
5. Passion
6. Proclivities (Featuring Saweetie)
7. Post Modern
8. 30 Decembers
9. Runnit Back
10. Huey In Da Chair (Featuring Busta Rhymes)
11. Basquiat Energy
12. Praise Him (Featuring Nas)
13. Murdergram Deux (Featuring Eminem)
14. The Vow (Featuring Mad Squablz, J-S.A.N.D., and Don Pablito)

Titled ‘Frequencies Of Real Creative Energy’ or ‘The FORCE’, the album’s artwork is a rather unassuming one — featuring scribbled frequency waves and words against a black background. On the side, LL can be seen with eyes closed, meditating on his art form and ability, now decades into the game. While the artwork seems low effort, the tracks released so far are far from this observation. Arguably, LL has been able to create music that is evergreen and relevant even now, and the approach shows beautifully in the singles released so far in support of the album.

I’m honored to say that I’m featured on the upcoming LL COOL J album, “The Force,” executive produced by Q-Tip. 🤯

I produced and rapped on track 14, “The Vow.”

It’s a dream come true. Much love to the GOAT LL and my big bro Tip! Thank y’all for giving me a shot!

Sonically, the production has more than a hint of nostalgia, and revolves around the success of the boom bap sound. With a steady drum groove littered with piano riffs on ‘Passion’, LL sets the tone for the album by sticking unapologetically to his roots as an emcee, which certainly has us captivated. Let us wait and see what more he has in store in the time leading up to the album — one can possibly anticipate a couple more singles before the Force turns into an unstoppable momentum for the emcee. Don’t call it a comeback!

Pre save this new album. Trust me.
