Lynn Avery and Cole Pulice have announced a new album. Phantasy & Reality follows the pair’s collaborative 2022 release, To Live & Die in Space & Time, and it arrives November 15 via Moon Glyph. They’ve also shared two songs from the ambient jazz project, “All That the Air Allows” and “Moonlight in an Empty Room.” Listen to them below.
Avery and Pulice made Phantasy & Reality between 2022 and 2024, working on the album in Oakland, New York, and Minneapolis. Upright bassist Charlie Bruber features on three of album’s tracks, and Ambrose Akinmusire plays trumpet on “A Mote of Frozen Eternity.”
Since their last link-up, Avery, who also records as Iceblink, reissued her album Carpet Cocoon. And, last year, Pulice released “If I Don’t See You in the Future, I’ll See You in the Pasture,” a 22-minute composition for Longform Editions.
