Meet VERSEatyle: One of Daygo’s Best Underground Artists

As an artist, it’s important to have a support system to help with the ups and downs of the industry. VERSEatyle, a talented hip-hop artist and influencer from San Diego, knows this all too well. With a background in pop locking and b-boying, VERSEatyle has had to navigate the challenges of marketing himself, budgeting for music, and overcoming financial difficulties, all while working independently with only his talents and the support of the fans he’s impacted along the way.

VERSEatyle is an exceptional artist, who hails from the sunny city of San Diego, California. Born in Los Angeles, and raised in San Diego, VERSEatyle’s background in pop-locking and breakdancing from an early age is what set the foundation for his diverse and multi-talented artistry. His father, a music producer, and former 80s street performer introduced him to the Hip Hop lifestyle, igniting a passion in him that has continued to grow to this day.

VERSEatyle is a rare breed of artist who not only raps, dances, and produces music, but he is also a content creator, calisthenic athlete, and has over 50 sponsorships and partnerships, all without the support of a team, all while being unsigned. This fact alone sets him apart from the majority of his peers in the music industry.

Despite his talents, VERSEatyle had to navigate some growing pains and financial hardships to reach where he is today. He faced challenges such as a lack of knowledge about marketing his brand, maneuvering life through the ups and downs, and budgeting for his music career while undergoing financial difficulties. But, despite all of this, he still managed to perform at venues such as House of Blues and has a tally of over 100 performances (dance and music) under his belt.

VERSEatyle’s journey in music started in 2008, and since then, he has released six music projects and numerous singles. At the start of his career, he believed that hard work and excellence in his craft would be enough to attract opportunities and people to him. However, over time, he learned that it takes more than just being great at what you do; you also have to advertise and present yourself in a manner that will attract attention and engagement from new people for your brand, company, or product.

In today’s world, with the ease of becoming an artist, support is more crucial than ever. VERSEatyle believes that being a fan is a skill, and everyone has different levels of supporting others they admire. He advises upcoming artists not to take it personally if someone they expect to support them doesn’t do so right away or at all, as people are learning and growing, and some things take time.

VERSEatyle has set some impressive goals for himself, including mentoring talented proteges, inspiring his family and loved ones to pursue their dreams, providing knowledge and guidance to future artists, creating a close-knit team and artistic production family, uplifting San Diego’s cultural scene globally, continuing to provide independent programs for the homeless and hungry, and reaching financial stability to provide for generations to come.
