Morehouse College has unveiled a new Multimedia Center powered by a major investment from Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand to support student storytelling.

Morehouse College has officially unveiled its new Multimedia Center, a facility designed to transform how students approach journalism and digital content creation. By providing a dedicated space for recording, editing, and broadcasting, the Atlanta-based HBCU is offering its students the necessary infrastructure to refine their reporting and storytelling skills in a professional environment.

The initiative is the result of a long-term partnership with Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand. While the collaboration began with a $1 million gift in 2021 to bolster journalism and sports-related programming, the total commitment has since grown beyond that initial figure. This investment has been instrumental in establishing the center, which serves as the hub for the college’s Journalism in Sports, Culture, and Social Justice department.

Emani Saucier, a Morehouse alumnus who serves as the center’s co-founder and inaugural director, emphasized the importance of this development for future generations. “This space is designed to inspire creativity, expand access, and empower students to tell impactful stories that shape culture and drive change,” Saucier noted.

The curriculum integrates high-end industry equipment with mentorship from active professionals, allowing students to manage projects from the research phase through to final production. This practical approach is already yielding results; students have utilized the facility to produce content that garnered over one million views on social media throughout August. Furthermore, the program’s training was a key factor in a student securing an Emmy-winning interview for The Maroon Tiger.

This new facility builds upon a foundation of media excellence at Morehouse, which launched a journalism major in 2022 and previously developed sports and journalism programming with the support of filmmaker Spike Lee. With roughly 120 alumni currently active in the media and sports industries, the college continues to leverage its partnerships to ensure that the next wave of storytellers has the resources required to succeed in a competitive digital landscape.
