Motown Priest’s new single, “Employee of the Month,” is a scathing, engaging takedown of the ‘American Dream.’ The problem, of course, is that the dream is rooted in capitalism, which the Queens by-way-of Detroit rapper deftly describes as an agent of chaos. He also uniquely ties everyone’s struggle together, which makes his storytelling all the more impactful.
“Employee of the Month” can be streamed now through your preferred streaming platform with Priest’s new album, Hawthorne, available now on green vinyl through Get On Down. The digital release is set to drop next Friday, April 14th, courtesy of O’s Circle in partnership with Brick Records. A short film of the same title—which serves as Priest’s directorial debut—is set to drop the following Friday, April 21st, and utilizes several of the album cuts as the film’s soundtrack.
