Nine Inch Nails scored the new movie Tron: Ares, and they have now announced the details of the official soundtrack album. Tron: Ares (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is out September 19 via Interscope. Below, listen to the new album’s “As Alive as You Need Me to Be” and watch the official trailer for Tron: Ares.
While Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have made a lot of music together in recent years, “As Alive as You Need Me to Be” is the first official Nine Inch Nails song since the 2021 Health collaboration “Isn’t Everyone.” In addition, the Tron: Ares soundtrack will be the first official Nine Inch Nails album since 2020’s Ghosts V: Together and Ghosts VI: Locusts.
Nine Inch Nails are currently on their Peel It Back Tour. In November, Reznor and Ross will host the inaugural Future Ruins festival.
Tron: Ares is the third Tron movie, following the Wendy Carlos–scored 1982 original and the 2010 Daft Punk–scored sequel Tron: Legacy. The new movie is directed by Joachim Rønning, and it stars Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Hasan Minhaj, and others. It hits theaters on Friday, October 10.
