Kura is an 18-year-old rapper/producer, Detroit native, and SOSSHOUSE signee who’s got a knack for elastic flows and swift melodies. Today, Kura dropped the video for the new single “HOLD IT UP” Produced by Pi’erre Bourne. “HOLD IT UP” sees Kura realizing his dreams over fuzzy guitar lines with a cool, calm, and collected flow. In the video, Kura moves from location to location as a freestanding door follows his every move, giving like to the saying “when one door closes, another one opens.”
Realizing his dreams is easy for Kura because his actual dream was to one day work with Pi’erre Bourne and now he’s signed to Pi’erre’s label and is constantly in the studio with him. Speaking on this experience, Kura explained: “Being in the studio is a whole new environment for me so it was an experience. Even though I was out of my comfort zone recording with an engineer, that beat felt right for me and it just clicked. After he made the beat and the engineer pulled it up everything else was a blur because I was so focused. I woke up the next day so geeked over the song.”
“HOLD IT UP” might be the first time you’re hearing from Kura, but expect a lot more to come in 2022!
