Röyksopp Announce DJ Tour and New Album, Share Song Featuring Fever Ray and Trentemøller: Listen

Röyksopp—the Norwegian electronic music duo of Svein Berge and Torbjørn Bruntland—have announced a new album. True Electric follows December’s Nebulous Nights – An Ambient Excursion Into Profound Mysteries and arrives on April 11. Below, check out “What Else Is There? (True Electric),” featuring Fever Ray and Trentemøller.

The original “What Else Is There?” appeared on Röyksopp’s 2005 album, The Understanding. The new version is updated to reflect how it sounds in a live Röyksopp DJ set. In fact, nearly all of the songs on the new album are updates of older tracks, such as the Robyn collaborations “The Girl and the Robot” and “Monument.”

Röyksopp explained in a press release, “True Electric consists of recordings and renditions, meant to capture the essence of our live shows bearing the same name. The idea was to put an emphasis on the clubbier aspects of our music, as well as returning to our roots within the realms of electronic music.”

Röyksopp begin a DJ tour later this week. The duo will perform in Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and the United States. See Röyksopp’s tour dates below.
