Sky Katz is “Crushin” it.
When she’s not playing Tess on Disney Channel’s “Raven’s Home,” the 15-year-old actress continues to pursue her first love—music. The rapper, who got her start on “America’s Got Talent,” reflects on young love in the video for her new single “Crushin.”
The Nayip Ramos-directed clip finds the social media sensation crushing on a boy she likes. In between her time in the studio, she muses about her crush and reminisces on their dates together. But her busy schedule just keeps getting in the way.
“I like you but I don’t really have time though / I’m crushing on moneybags and bankrolls,” raps Sky.
Speaking with Rap-Up, she revealed the inspiration behind the track. “The storyline mirrors something I had going on in my life at the time I wrote this song with ROE,” says Sky. “I had a crush and was trying to find time for this person, but being busy with acting and music, left me close to no time to hang out with him.”
The video was shot at three separate locations throughout Los Angeles including Pinz bowling alley, Game Over Pizza, and the studio. “This song is different from any song I’ve ever released because it’s the most personal to me and relatable to others,” adds Sky. “I want to continue to get more and more personal on my songs so my fans can get to know me and what I think about and go through.”
