Baby MONTERO is here!
Nine months later, Lil Nas X delivers his long-awaited debut album. In addition to the chart-topping hit “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” and “Industry Baby” with Jack Harlow, the 15-track set includes appearances from Megan Thee Stallion (“Dolla Sign Slime”) and Doja Cat (“Scoop”). The legendary Elton John guests on “One of Me,” while Miley Cyrus joins Nas on the closer “Am I Dreaming.”
“You’re getting a lot of stories about me,” the 22-year-old rapper told PEOPLE. “You’re getting a lot of stories about my past and where I want to be in my love life. But they’re also a bop. I feel like I finally found a great balance between being as real as possible within my music and making a hit song.”

MONTERO arrives along with a cinematic video for “That’s What I Want,” which Nas calls his “favorite video I’ve ever made.” In the opening scene of the STILLZ-directed clip, Nas plays a high school football player, who makes out with his teammate in the locker room. Later in life, he is devastated to find out that his crush is married with a kid. With tears in his eyes, Nas walks down the aisle at a church in a wedding dress before Billy Porter hands him a guitar.
Nas pulled out all the stops to promote the album, including a VMA performance, pregnancy photo shoot, billboards, and even his own talk show, “The Montero Show,” which ended with him giving birth.
