The Black Keys Cancel Arena Tour, Planning to Downsize Venues

The Black Keys have canceled the arena tour they were due to start in September, saying the dates will be rescheduled for smaller venues. Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney cited a tour of midsize venues in Europe that inspired them “to offer a similarly exciting, intimate experience for both fans and the band.” New dates have not yet been announced.

The Black Keys had originally planned a run from September through November in venues including New York’s Madison Square Garden and Chicago’s United Center. Their show at Chiacgo’s NASCAR Chicago Street Race in July is set to go ahead. The duo released its latest album, Ohio Players, in April.
