The Game Thinks the Internet Is Brainwashing People Into Liking ‘Wack Music’

The Game has a theory about today’s music.

The Compton rapper took to Twitter to express his controversial thoughts on the internet’s role in getting people to listen to what he calls “wack music.”

“The internet forces you to listen to wack ass music,” Game tweeted on Tuesday. “It’s so much of it, you’re brainwashed to thinkin the shit actually sound like sumn.”

Many of his followers weighed in to share their support for his comments. One person blamed social media apps like TikTok, but not everyone agreed. “These boys out here tryna get rich and famous and u hatin,” wrote one Twitter user.

The Game, who released what he calls his final studio album Born 2 Rap in November, recently offered some advice to up-and-coming artists. “Stay INDEPENDENT. OWN your masters,” he tweeted. “Do the work yourself & the payoff will be worth it. Almost 20 years in music & not once did anyone tell me this. Shit, I’m still waiting on them to tell YOU.”

This rap shit will KILL YOU. Literally. The labels sign young artists to slave deals & their only concern is how they can use you to make more money. They don’t even advertise or market you no more, they let u do it yourself on IG while they sit back, steal & wait 4 the next you.

On Monday, Meek Mill also chimed in about the state of hip-hop, claiming that “wack music” will meet its demise in 2020. “This year wack music will perish,” said Meek, who recently released his new single “Believe” with Justin Timberlake.
