Tony Yayo Goes Off on DJ Vlad Over Potential Memphis Bleek Verzuz Battle: ‘You Can’t Be Serious’

Tony Yayo isn’t entertaining the thought of taking on Memphis Bleek in a potential Verzuz battle, as the G-Unit rapper doesn’t even think it would make for a fair fight.

Yayo stopped by VLADTV for an interview on Thursday, and DJ Vlad asked him about who would win in a Verzuz between Yayo and Memphis Bleek because of their similar roles in iconic NYC rap crews — but the 47-year-old shut him down quickly.

“This is really ‘get the f— out of here Vlad’ sh–,” he said. “I know a lot of n—as look at Yayo as the underdog, but when you hear me on freestyles and mixtapes, I went to jail for like a year-and-a-half when sh– started to pop. So you know the politics of the game. We’re the most hated.”

Yayo continued: “N—as know I show up and show out on them Verzuz. But come on, bro, you can’t be serious. No way. A record like ‘So Seductive’ and ‘I Don’t Love Hoes’ are still playing.”

Essentially, Yayo went on to say it’s levels to this, as someone who continuously tours around the globe with a catalog that dates back over two decades.

“I’m going on my own tours… Name anywhere in Canada, every club was filled out. Selling merch on my own because of the G-Unit brand,” he said. “I done been in Nelson Mandela’s cell, what do I have to prove to n—as?”

Tony Yayo’s Thoughts of a Predicate Felon solo debut arrived in 2005 and reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The project’s lead single, “So Seductive,” featuring 50 Cent, cracked the Billboard Hot 100 top 50 (No. 48). G-Unit albums like Beg for Mercy and Terminate on Sight both debuted in the Billboard 200 top five.
