Tory Lanez is having a moment of clarity.

The rapper-singer has never been one for humility, but he’s had a change of heart. Tory took to Twitter on Tuesday to apologize for once claiming that he was the “best rapper alive.”

“Lol yo I’m sorry for the time I said ‘Im the best rapper alive .. even if I feel that way about myself . It’s a dumbass statement,” he wrote in a since-deleted tweet.

In retrospect, he realizes that his comment may have been arrogant. “And even though I’m always ready to stand behind my talent . It made me look like a dick head . And I’m truly not that. so yeah . My bad lmao,” he added.

The apology follows a tweet from January 2019 where he laid claim to the throne. “IM THE BEST RAPPER ALIVE RIGHT NOW …… I WILL BODY ANY OF YALL NIGGAS OUT ! PERIOD ….” said Tory.

The Toronto native continues to host his popular “Quarantine Radio” program on Instagram Live, which has featured guests including Drake, Justin Bieber, and Chris Brown. On Friday, he is set to release The New Toronto 3, his final album for Interscope, featuring the previously-released singles “Who Needs Love” and “Do the Most.”
