Killer Mike appeared on the Monday night episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to perform his Michael song “Exit 9.” Dedicating the song to his grandmother, he performed while seated on a stool, backed by his choir the Midnight Revival and DJ Trackstar. Watch it happen below.
Mike’s appearance followed his sweep of the rap categories at the 2024 Grammys last week. He won Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “Scientists & Engineers,” while Michael took home Best Rap Album over LPs by Travis Scott, Nas, Metro Boomin, and Drake and 21 Savage.
After winning this third trophy, Killer Mike was arrested while still inside Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena. Later that night, he was booked on a misdemeanor. A security guard allegedly called for a citizen’s arrest, claiming Mike injured her while trying to go through the wrong entrance inside the venue. “As you can imagine, there was a lot going and there was some confusion around which door my team and I should enter,” Killer Mike later explained. “We experienced an over-zealous security guard but my team and I have the upmost confidence that I will ultimately be cleared of all wrongdoing.”
