The Diddy trial has been a rollercoaster for everyone with some shocking and disgusting revelations all round. Back in July, the Rap mogul was found guilty on prostitution charges and facing 11+ years in prison along with a $500k fine. His sentencing has been going on today and just moments ago, a decision was made.
Judge Arun Subramanian, after acknowledging that Diddy was abusive “physically, emotionally and psychologically”, sentenced Diddy to 50 months in prison (4 years and 2 months) plus a $500k fine. The judge called this “hard time”, but noted Diddy will still have a life after prison. He told Diddy that despite the dark place he’s likely in, “here is a light at the end of the tunnel” and a universe of people who love him.
As a reminder, Diddy is being sentenced under the Mann Act and not the racketeering and sex trafficking charges that he has already been acquitted of. Do you think this is a fair punishment and are you surprised?
