Facebook is stepping up to defend Lizzo.
TMZ reported Tuesday that the social media platform has removed hateful and insensitive comments about the “Rumors” singer.

A source at Facebook says the company has already removed numerous comments on Lizzo’s most recent social media posts and will continue to watch for the hateful comments moving forward.

The news comes just days after Lizzo was in tears while discussing the fat-phobic and racist remarks she’s received on the internet following the release of the Cardi B-assisted track.

“People who have something mean to say about you and for the most part, it doesn’t hurt my feelings. I don’t care,” she said through tears. “I just think when I’m working this hard, my tolerance gets lower. My patience is lower. I’m more sensitive, and it gets to me.”

Cardi B added her thoughts to the conversation. “When you stand up for yourself they claim your problematic & sensitive,” she wrote. “When you don’t they tear you apart until you crying like this. Whether you skinny, big, plastic, they going to always try to put their insecurities on you. Remember these are nerds looking at the popular table.”
