G-Eazy is switching up his sound.

In honor of his 31st birthday on Sunday, the rapper took to his socials to announce his side project, Everything’s Strange Here. Described as a “personal exploration,” the album was created entirely in quarantine, and finds G-Eazy exploring new genres and sounds with original music and covers of his favorite artists.

He’s already shared a taste of what’s to come with the first song, the psych-rock “Free Porn, Cheap Drugs,” as well as covers of The Beatles’ “I’m So Tired” and Radiohead’s “Creep” featuring his rumored girlfriend Ashley Benson.

“Eight weeks ago I didn’t know I needed to make this,” said G-Eazy. “The world has been turned upside down and inside out–but a lot of us have had the fortunate opportunity to self-reflect, grow, and evolve. This project is a representation of where my heart and head have been at. It’s honest and pure–it’s me. Take it or leave it–this is how I feel.”

He is simultaneously working on his upcoming album These Things Happen Too, the follow-up to 2017’s The Beautiful & Damned. Last month, he and Jack Harlow teamed up on the Zaytoven-produced “Moana.”

Everything’s Strange Here is due June 5.
