Here’s What Was Whispered Into DMX’s Ear On His Deathbed

DMX would’ve turned 51 on Saturday (December 18) but instead, his family, friends and fans were forced to celebrate his life without him. The Ruff Ryders legend died at White Plains Hospital on April 9 after a week on life support. X, who struggled with drug addiction for most of his adult life, suffered a catastrophic heart attack after relapsing on cocaine.
But X’s uncle and lifelong friend DJ Superior were able to say a few words to him at the hospital on the night he died. During a recent interview with The Sun, DJ Superior revealed what he and the unidentified uncle s whispered in X’s ear as he laid on his deathbed.
“I would’ve been so happy if he got up,” Superior said. “His uncle was on his knees saying, ‘You don’t gotta go yet.’” Superior then told X, “Rest man. I got you. I got your kids but you got a lot of kids. I think he was looking down laughing at that one.”
Understandably, it was difficult for Superior to see DMX in that state, but he tried to focus on the silver lining.
“It was hard to see him laid out like that, but how I saw it is the world couldn’t hurt him anymore,” he added. “People were always taking his money, using him, misusing his funds, smiling in his face and then talking bad about him. After he blew up and got the big record deal, the first thing he did was give money to fix a church’s roof. It was like $2 million. But the church never got it. Whoever handled the money messed it up.”
Superior said the church never received the money: “X didn’t worship money. It was never about that for him. It’s sad talking about X. We lost a legend. Look the impact DMX had on the world. He came from nothing and built himself up.”
DMX reportedly left 15 children behind and a fiancée, Desiree Lindstrom. Lindstrom was initially silent about his death but eventually issued an Instagram post nine days later.
“The first night we met and you held me close, I knew I would never let go,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself with DMX. “I was lost in you and nothing else mattered. My best friend, my baby, my love…truly my everything. Thank you for us. Thank you for Exodus. Thank you God for Earl Simmons…forever X.”
