Interscope Co-Founder Jimmy Iovine No Longer Facing Sexual Abuse Lawsuit

A woman who sued Interscope co-founder Jimmy Iovine for sexual abuse and misconduct has dropped the case after “the matter was resolved to the satisfaction of the parties,” according to her lawyer. The case was discontinued on February 15, with prejudice—meaning the woman cannot refile—and without costs to either party, according to documents viewed by Pitchfork. Iovine’s representatives did not respond to requests for comment.

Last November, a summons for Iovine was filed in New York County Supreme Court after the woman, who is unnamed, alleged multiple instances of abuse and misconduct, including one, in 2007, when she was “sexually abused, forcibly touched, and subjected to sexual harassment and retaliation” by Iovine. The summons was issued during the window of the now-expired New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which waived the statute of limitations for sexual assault. The woman never filed a full lawsuit.

As well as co-founding Interscope, Iovine co-founded Beats Electronics with Dr. Dre. In 2022, Bruce Springsteen inducted him into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
