Kevin Gates Dedicates New Single ‘Dreka’ to His Wife

In honor of his 34th birthday, Kevin Gates debuts his latest single, which serves as a heartfelt dedication to his wife.
On the romantic “Dreka,” named for his wife, manager, and mother of his two children, Gates serenades his ride or die, who stayed with him through the ups and downs. “Swear to God from this day forward, it’s about making you happy,” he raps about Dreka, whom he met at 17. The visual features footage from the couple’s teenage years and 2015 wedding.
The Baton Rouge rapper has also announced dates for a North American tour. The “I’m Him Part 2 Tour” kicks off May 19 in Denver and wraps June 13 at Bonnaroo. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. local time.
The husband and wife recently teamed up to create a short film for “Fatal Attraction” off Gates’ sophomore album I’m Him, which dropped in September.
