King Lavish Drops Powerful New Single "Try Harder": Exclusive Interview

Rising artist King Lavish just dropped his highly anticipated single “Try Harder.” Born from raw emotion and life experiences, the track serves as a powerful testament to resilience and ambition, showcasing Lavish’s unique ability to transform hardship into art. Blending hard-hitting lyrics with an infectious beat, “Try Harder” is a rallying cry for anyone fighting to rise above their circumstances. We caught up with King Lavish to discuss the meaning behind the single, the journey to its release, and his mission to inspire through music.

What does “Try Harder” mean to you personally, and why did you choose it as your next release?

“Try Harder” means to me, never give up or allow demons to stop what you try to do and pursue in life. I chose “Try Harder” as my first release because it’s the face of reality for me at my point in life, kind of like the cover of a book.

Was there a specific moment or experience that motivated you to write “Try Harder”?

The moment I can say came in for me to think about me not giving up and continuing my dreams, and no matter how hard life gets through out my struggles, for me to keep grinding and creating what I love to do best, which is writing my problems, situations, and vision on life….

With “Try Harder” launching a trio of singles, what kind of story are you trying to tell through these releases?

My message to the world for these three amazing singles is what we face and how certain feel and go through on a daily basis in society.

You’ve built your sound in El Paso after growing up in California and New Jersey. How have these different places influenced your storytelling and identity as an artist?

The three different states influenced me by the people, crimes, and me having to experience each side of the world and not just one state visual.

What’s one thing you’ve learned about yourself while working on your recent projects?

One thing I experienced very much fair well is that I have a positive, aggressive approach to expressing myself, and I’m able to create this strong mental frame of what I’ve seen and been through throughout my whole life and what I’ve seen others go through, including family and friends.

If someone is hearing your music for the first time, which track would you recommend they start with, and why?

I recommend highly “No Time to Waist” because it gives a high-energy approach towards a clear view of life. When you try to aim towards a goal, a dream, etc., you just need to keep pushing and not allow others in the way or to stop your grind and hustle in life.

Who are some of your biggest influences in the rap world, and how have they shaped your style and approach to music?

Dave East, Joyner Lucas, 2pac, Nisey Hussle, Fabolous, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Cassidy, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, T.I., and Eazy-E. Each one of these artists influenced me a lot because there stories are very genuine and have motivated lyrics that describe the true events and feelings about life and what they went through with powerful approaches that’ve helped me get through life and still do as of today.

Where do you see your music taking you in the next five years, both creatively and personally?

I see myself becoming the and is approaching hip hop differently and being able to have the artist that stands different verses a lot of great hip hop music that’s made today in views and ears.

If you could sum up the message of “Try Harder” in one sentence for someone who hasn’t heard it yet, what would you say?

Think of times of someone or that person who trued bringing you down but you went against the odds and faught back against them, walk stoppers…
