Lil Yachty sees only one victor of this crazy year and it’s Travis Scott.
Lil Boat crowned La Flame the winner of 2020 in a tweet on Friday, September 25. But in a follow-up, he clarified that the criteria wasn’t music-based.
“I ain’t gone lie, I think Travis Scott might be the only one who had a good 2020,” Yachty tweeted. “I’m not even talking about music.”

2020 has been pretty good to the Astroworld rapper, from his insanely successful collaboration with McDonald’s to breaking Fortnite’s streaming records, copping a $23.5 million mansion in cash and more. And musically, he’s looking to add to it.
In a new interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 Radio, Travis dropped more details on his forthcoming album Utopia.
“It’s just like day one,” he said. “And just the music too, just being able to get back to making beats like that. It’s driving me, it’s driving me. I’m so hype. Like I’ve never been so fucking hype, man. I’m like that. I’m excited about music and rap and beats again. Like this shit is just – I’m on a fucking mission, man. We trying to literally build up these gates at Utopia and make it happen. But I’m starting right now from the ground up…”
The project’s name was revealed in a letter Scott wrote to commemorate the two-year anniversary of his chart-topping previous album, Astroworld. The following month in his September cover story for The Face, he revealed the effort would have music to chill to as well as music to turn up to – but don’t expect it any time soon. He told the publication he doesn’t plan to drop during the pandemic because he wants the music to “hit the streets.”
However, he did release a new song and video on Thursday (September 24) with M.I.A. and Young Thug. Watch the visual for “FRANCHISE” below.
