Logic is back.
After retiring and releasing his so-called final album last year, the Maryland rapper is plotting his return. On Wednesday night, he dropped a surprise new track on which he announced that he’s coming out of retirement.
On the minute-long “Tired in Malibu,” which features his young son on the artwork, Logic raps about Elon Musk and Big Lenbo before dropping a bombshell announcement.
“Retired for a minute, but I guess I’m back, man,” he says.
Last summer, the Grammy-nominated rapper announced that he was retiring after releasing his sixth and final album No Pressure. “Officially announcing my retirement with the release of ‘No Pressure’ executive produced by No I.D. July 24th,” he tweeted at the time. “It’s been a great decade. Now it’s time to be a great father.”
During a tearful Twitch livestream, he bid farewell to his fans. “I won’t be on the internet for the first time in my career because it hurts me and everytime I released an album, I just wanted to be loved,” said Logic, who chose family life over the spotlight.
He and his wife Brittney Noell welcomed their first son, Bobby, last year. “These two make me the happiest man in the world and it’s a happiness nothing else has ever been able to fulfill,” said the proud dad.
