NBA YoungBoy Case Update: FBI Forensic Examiner Testifies She Never Tested The Gun For Fingerprints

Los Angeles, CA – NBA YoungBoy (real name Kentrell Gaulden) is currently on trial for federal weapons charges in California. As prosecutors attempted to make their case on Wednesday (July 13), defense pointed to the lack of fingerprints on the weapon the platinum-selling rapper is accused of possessing.

According to Rolling Stone, FBI Forensic Examiner Icel Kuznetsova, who’s described as “an expert in the field of latent print examinations,” testified she failed to retrieve any suitable prints from the magazines and cartridges from the FNX-45 pistol he allegedly had on him. She also testified she never actually tested the gun itself.

NBA YoungBoy maintains he was unaware the gun was in the car when Los Angeles Police Department officers attempted to pull him over last March. The officers were tasked with arresting him on a warrant out of Louisiana tied to a different weapons possession case at the time.

“There’s no evidence based on any of your analysis that shows that Mr. Gaulden touched those particular items at all, is that correct?” defense lawyer Andrew Flier asked, to which Kuznetsova replied: “I did not develop any prints on these items.”

NBA YoungBoy has pleaded not guilty in both the California and Louisiana cases, which both allege he was a felon in possession of a firearm which he wasn’t allowed to have due to his 2017 conviction for aggravated assault with a firearm.

The Louisiana case is scheduled to be tried next, which claims YoungBoy jointly possessed two guns when he was arrested along with 16 other men in Baton Rouge in September 2020.
